Martus: Special Purpose Worsheets
What is an SPW?
An SPW is essentially a worksheet beside—or in addition to—the main budget worksheet for a given organization, created to handle specific, special-purpose budgeting tasks (for example, event budgeting, conference cost allocation, multi-department cost distribution). Its purpose is to capture the detail behind budget line items, record assumptions or drivers, and then post the results (via the SPW) into the main budget worksheets.
- There are three types:
- Worksheet-specific SPW (WSPW) – tied to a single worksheet.
- Global SPW (GSPW) – applies across multiple worksheets and can allocate amounts across departments/lines.
- SPW Template (SPWT) – a template used by admin users that can be imported into WSPWs for consistency.
