What Are Dynamic Allocations?
Dynamic allocations in Sage Intacct are rule-based processes that automatically distribute amounts from one account (or set of accounts) to others based on predefined logic.
Instead of manually calculating and posting allocations each period, you define allocation rules once—and Sage Intacct executes them consistently each time you run the allocation.
Common use cases include:
- Allocating shared IT, HR, or administrative costs
- Distributing overhead across departments or locations
- Allocating rent, utilities, or insurance expenses
- Spreading revenue or expenses across projects
- Assigning corporate costs to subsidiaries in multi-entity environments
